VA Announces New Local Medical Center Director

The new top administrator of the VA Butler Health Care system is a familiar face to the employees and veterans of the local community.

After serving in the role of Interim Director, Sharon Coyle has been appointed as the system’s next Executive Director beginning March 13.

Coyle also served in other positions of leadership within the system, including the system’s Associate Director for Patient Care Services and Nurse Executive.

Coyle began her career at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) in 1999 as a nursing VALOR student. She held various positions of responsibility with VAPHS before coming to the Butler VA. Coyle was appointed to serve as the Associate Director for Patient Care Services for the Butler VA in April 2007.

Coyle received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Duquesne University. She obtained her master’s degree in Business Administration and master’s degree in Nursing at Waynesburg College.

The Butler VA Health Care System has been attending to veteran’s care in Butler County since 1947.
