Today, March 8, marks one year since the Veterans HEART Resource Center opened its doors, a place where veterans in Butler and the surrounding areas can find support, connection, and the resources they need. In just one year, we have served 275 veterans, ensuring access to essential services like food, clothing, job assistance, and transportation.
More Than a Resource – A Lifeline
With 17 veterans dying by suicide every day, our mission goes beyond meeting basic needs – it’s about building a community that prevents isolation and offers hope. Through peer connections, social events, and structured support groups, we provide a space where veterans can find purpose, build relationships, and know they are never alone.
A Year of Impact:
- 62 veterans receive food pantry support each month
- Free clothing, hygiene kits, and cleaning supplies distributed regularly
- Free laundry access and a welcoming drop-in center
- Transportation for medical appointments, job interviews, and VA services
- Weekly support groups, digital literacy classes, and one-on-one assistance
Over the past year, we’ve seen firsthand how a warm space, a helping hand, and a strong community can change lives. The Veterans HEART Resource Center is committed to serving those who served us, ensuring every veteran has the support, respect, and opportunities they deserve.
To every veteran who has walked through our doors and every supporter who has stood with us – thank you! Here’s to another year of making a difference!
