Robin’s Home Celebrates 3 Year Anniversary!

Today (July 1st) marks our three year anniversary of opening our doors to serve homeless, unstably housed or low-income women veterans. In this time we have served 27 women and 10 children in our 6 bedroom home. Unfortunately, we had to turn away 11 referrals this past year because we didn’t have any beds available. We do refer them to other agencies for assistance. We have survived a pandemic that affected us financially like many other businesses.

We have incorporated other programs at Robin’s Home: women’s recovery group (open to all women in our community) free basic computer classes (open to all in our community).

For our residents we started a community reintegration program to support our women with social activities in the community. On average 20 veterans commit suicide a day. Therefore, the community integration program helps our residents build a support system in our community and discover healthy social activities to manage stress to promote a healthy lifestyle. We incorporated monthly enrichment classes that incorporates a variety of topic and activities (healthy boundaries, conflict resolution, managing stress, healthy coping skills, etc). We have partnered with many businesses, community partners and the VA to ensure our residents are receiving wrap around services.

We want to expand and secure an additional building to continue to serve more women veterans and their children. To do that we need the help of our community to raise the funds to make this possible. Together we can accomplish this. We have accomplished so much together because we came together as a community!!!

THANK YOU to all that support and promote Robin’s Home. For everyone that has made this possible!!!

With love,
